The safety, protection, and well-being of every child is Haute Styles Week's highest priority. This policy applies to castings, fittings, rehearsals, backstage preparation, show days, and Model Bootcamp, in every city and at every HSW event.
1. Parental Consent
A parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the child's application and any participation agreement. All HSW communication about a child goes to the parent or guardian, never directly to the child. A signed consent does not replace government work permits or other required legal approvals.
2. Supervision
A parent, guardian, or approved adult chaperone must be present or accessible according to each event's written supervision plan. Children are never left unattended. Parents and guardians are told who is responsible for supervision at all times.
3. Youth Areas, Check-In, and Check-Out
Children use a designated youth check-in and backstage area, separate from adult changing and preparation areas, with a waiting area for parents and guardians. Only a parent, legal guardian, or an adult authorized in writing may check a child out, and photo identification may be required.
4. Screened Personnel
Staff, volunteers, photographers, production personnel, and anyone working directly with children must have the background checks and child-protection clearances required by law and HSW policy. Only authorized, screened individuals may enter youth areas. There is no unsupervised one-on-one contact between children and unrelated adults.
5. Age-Appropriate Participation
Garments, styling, hair, makeup, and activities must be age-appropriate. A child, parent, or guardian may raise a concern about any garment or activity before participation, and a child may stop any activity that feels unsafe or uncomfortable. Breaks and schedules follow applicable requirements.
6. Photography and Media
Written parental permission is required before photographing or recording a child. Separate permission is required before a child's image is used on our website, social media, programs, or other materials, and separate permission is required for press coverage. Parents may allow publicity with or without the child's first name. HSW never requests a child's personal social media handle. Parents may withdraw future promotional consent in writing at any time.
7. Permits and Legal Requirements
Child performer and child model requirements differ by location, including New York, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, France, and Japan. All required permits and approvals are completed before covered rehearsals or performances begin.

8. Reporting a Concern
If you have a safety concern about any child at an HSW activity, tell the youth coordinator or HSW staff on site immediately, or email info@hautestylesweek.com with the subject "Child Safety." In an emergency, call 911.
9. Our Commitment
These protections are a standard part of Haute Styles Week operations in every city, at every event.
